Current System Support Project Updates
Blackboard Upgrade - Dec. 2007 - Complete

Aviation Testing Program available under Blackboard - 3/8/2008 - Complete
OWA Read-Only Direct file access - U and WAnti-Spam email streams that have not been set by the user have been changed to "average". This will decrease the amount of spam received by our users. 6-2-2008. - Complete.
Upgradeing web servers into service for the main EKU web content (basically nearly every site that ends with .eku.edu) . This server is running newer software, and has been thoroughly tested to ensure it works properly. Once we are satisfied that this upgraded server is working correctly, then we will upgrade the remaining servers over the next several weeks. New versions - RedHat Enterprise Linux 5/Apache 2.2/PHP5/Mysql5. On May 23rd we will have the first server swing-in, followed by monitoring.
Additional Memory and storage to be added to the Banner servers. On order. - 7/5/2008 - Complete
Additional SAN storage to be added to the Banner server. Received and racked. - Complete
Additional memory to be added to domain controllers. Upgrades in progress. - 8/15/2008 - Complete
Footprints upgrade to version 8.11 - Clone a test system, install asset management and begin testing - 7/14/2008 - In production July 30th 2008 - Complete
Symantec Endpoint Server - Currently testing clients - Production Fall 2008.
Cbord System replacement - Upgrade begins on 6/30/2008 - 7/3/2008. Server received and racked. - Complete
DYKNOW software installed on lab servers - Installed, LDAP issues with the software. - Complete.
Oracle Discover using OWB testing setup (Banner) - Working in test - TBA.
Re-Build Anti-Spam Software/Hardware. Service will be down for a four hour period. - 6/19/2008 - Complete
Research, purchase, and install appropriate NAS device for video content servers. Storage target to contain one full semester of recorded video - Cancelled there will be two weeks of recorded material that is retained. - Cancelled.
Update Banner System to version 7.4. Banner will be unavailable from 6:00 am Sunday afternoon July 20th - Complete
Update Banner production System with required Luminus modules - August 25th, 2008
The Systems Support Team
This team supports all of the Universities enterprise hardware and Operating systems. This includes, faculty/staff and student email systems, Anti-virus software, Sharepoint systems, ERP systems (Banner and related systems), Anti-Spam, Active Directory, University file systems, Blackboard (online learning system), University Oracle, SQL databases, Password management systems, enterprise data backup systems, Data Center environment and monitoring systems, and University web servers.
