A list and description of files that are blocked from moving through our Email system.
File/Attachment Blocking on Campus Email Servers
Currently, the antivirus software is configured to block the following attachments without regard for content:

Outlook Web Access (http://owa.eku.edu and https://stuowa.eku.edu/stu.asp) will disallow certain mime types by default. These follow Microsoft’s recommendations.
- application/hta
- x-internet-signup application/javascript
- application/xjavascript
- text/javascript
- application/msaccess (Access Database files)
- application/prg
- text/scriptlet
- application/xml
- text/xml
To get around these issues, you may rename a file before attaching it. For example, if you need send a to scr file, just rename it to sc_ before sending the file.
These files are blocked because of virus activity.
If you need to send a file that is blocked by the system please try one of the following options:
- Rename the extension of the file and ask the recipient to change the file name back to it's original version.
Save the file to your web directory (W: Drive) and send the intended person a link to the file e.g.(http://people.eku.edu/smithj/pictures.asp).
