Howto: Connect to exchange from Mac Mail

Describes how to connect to the exchange server using mac mail.

Assumptions:

You must be running Mac OS X (10.5.x) for these steps to work. Please consult with the IT Helpdesk for help with doing this. Note: If you already have an account setup for Exchange, it will not allow you to add another one.

 

The procedure:

  1. Open mac mail.
  2. Choose preferences from the "Mail" menu.
  3. Click the Accounts item in the dialog box.
  4. Click the + sign at the bottom left to create a new account.
  5. Fill the full name, email address and password as prompted.
  6. Select "Exchange" as the account type.
  7. Use ekumail.eku.edu as the incoming mail server.
  8. Use ekumail.eku.edu as the outgoing mail server (check the SSL box).
  9. Use ekumail.eku.edu as the Outlook Web Access Server.
