Oracle 10g to be placed into the production Banner system - Feb 16th 2008. - Complete

Student Exchange 2007 update - Target Date - Spring break 2008 (March 10 thru 14 2008). - Complete

Aviation Testing Program available under Blackboard - 3/8/2008 - Complete

OWA Read-Only Direct file access - U and W

Documentation complete, broader IT testing in process. - in production - 5/5/2008 Complete

OWA Read-Only Direct file access - W for students. 7/5/2008 Complete.

Anti-Spam email streams that have not been set by the user have been changed to "average". This will decrease the amount of spam received by our users. 6-2-2008. - Complete.

Testing Thin Client devices for possible use - Placed in Martin, SSB, and The Tech. Commons - Underway.

Early lab testing results and feedback are positive.

Will be moving thin clients to Accounting, Purchasing, Registars office for possible student worker testing. Also to

facilities for testing.

Pulling back thin client test units for return.

Exploring new thin client models.

Demo of VDI for Terminal Server replacement being explored.

June 15th - evaluate to deploy in halls. - VDI project cancelled because of ROI. This will be revisited within two years as the cost will change.

Testing standalone XP thin clients for Faculities, Kiosks, etc.

Terminal Server 2008 being tested for current hall solution.

Testing Plone/Zoap CMS for expanded use - Underway.

Sharepoint 2008
Production system date - TBA.
New server and storage complete and ordered.

System arrived and racked.
Installation complete.

Pharos printing replacement servers purchased. Server replacement switch - May 13th-15th 2008. - Complete.

Disaster Recovery Hardware/software selection completed and on order.

Hardware starting to arrive and is being racked - 5/30/2008.

Manchester site construction early, will use site for DR - 6/24/2008

Anti-Spam Server Replacements - Underway.

Blackboard 8.0 Upgrade

Creating development system for 8.0 testing - 3/25/2008 - Complete.

Will create full testing environment for install testing.

Full test environment by 4/28/2008 - Complete.

Test 8.0 system install - 4th install test to start.

Into production on 8/15/2008 - Upgrade to start on 8/9 - 8/14 2008 - Complete

Plone testing for controlled video distribution using Apple server and Apple based storage.

This will be used by the Center on Defness and Hearing Loss. - TBD

Trac-Dat System software update to 4.0.6.5 - 5/30/2008 - Complete.

Schedule/Resource 25 - Now Series 25

Setup required servers and required system software.

Systems test and production servers and DB install scheduled for April 28 - May 2nd. - Complete.

Production system DB install - Complete

Upgradeing web servers into service for the main EKU web content (basically nearly every site that ends with .eku.edu) . This server is running newer software, and has been thoroughly tested to ensure it works properly. Once we are satisfied that this upgraded server is working correctly, then we will upgrade the remaining servers over the next several weeks. New versions - RedHat Enterprise Linux 5/Apache 2.2/PHP5/Mysql5. On May 23rd we will have the first server swing-in, followed by monitoring.

Additional Memory and storage to be added to the Banner servers. On order. - 7/5/2008 - Complete

Additional SAN storage to be added to the Banner server. Received and racked. - Complete

Additional memory to be added to domain controllers. Upgrades in progress. - 8/15/2008 - Complete

Footprints upgrade to version 8.11 - Clone a test system, install asset management and begin testing - 7/14/2008 - In production July 30th 2008 - Complete

Symantec Endpoint Server - Currently testing clients - Production Fall 2008.

Cbord System replacement - Upgrade begins on 6/30/2008 - 7/3/2008. Server received and racked. - Complete

DYKNOW software installed on lab servers - Installed, LDAP issues with the software. - Complete.

Oracle Discover using OWB testing setup (Banner) - Working in test - TBA.

Re-Build Anti-Spam Software/Hardware. Service will be down for a four hour period. - 6/19/2008 - Complete

Research, purchase, and install appropriate NAS device for video content servers. Storage target to contain one full semester of recorded video - Cancelled there will be two weeks of recorded material that is retained. - Cancelled.

Update Banner System to version 7.4. Banner will be unavailable from 6:00 am Sunday afternoon July 20th - Complete

Update Banner production System with required Luminus modules - August 25th, 2008 - Complete.

Add Second STL VM server to handle the increased software load. Hardware sized and purchased. Add additional memory to existing STL VM server to increase performance. 9/23/2008

Purchase additional Mac server and place the Apple directory service on it. Upgrade Big Mac to the latest OS. 9/23/2008.

Remove Blackboard ver 6.0 and all of it's VM's. - Oct. 20th 2008

Modify the student account activation web page to include verbiage that strongly suggest the student change their default password and provide a link to the student password reset management page, along with information about what our requirements would be (8 character length, with the same complexity as the current faculty/staff policy.

The Systems Support Team

This team supports all of the Universities enterprise hardware and Operating systems. This includes, faculty/staff and student email systems, Anti-virus software, Sharepoint systems, ERP systems (Banner and related systems), Anti-Spam, Active Directory, University file systems, Blackboard (online learning system), University Oracle, SQL databases, Password management systems, enterprise data backup systems, Data Center environment and monitoring systems, and University web servers.
