MAC Office 2008 Available
New Office for Mac
The new MAC Office 2008 software is now available under the following path:
Q:\Install\office\Office_2008_MAC
Installation instructions:
With MacBook Pro computer plugged in to Ethernet network connection on campus:
0) Before installing Office 2008, you should make sure Mac OS X has all its software updates. (Click the “Apple menu,” choose “Software Update…,” and install any updates.)
1) From the “Go” menu, choose “Connect to Server.”
2) In the window presented, type in smb://filesrv.facultystaff.eku.edu/eku_pub/
3) In the logon window that should appear, domain is FACULTYSTAFF, usename is your username (bundym), password is whatever your password is.
4) A window showing a bunch of files and folders should appear
5) Click the “install” folder, then click the “office” folder, then click the “Office_2008_Mac” folder.
6) Double click the one installation file you see (it is an .iso file).
7) Installation should be pretty straightforward. I believe it recommends turning of any anti-virus software. (If you see the yellow-and-black yin-yang-like icon next to the clock, click it, choose Norton AntiVirus, and Disable Auto-Protect.)
8) Call 622-3000 option 3 if you encounter any issues.
9) After installation, remember to re-enable any AntiVirus auto-protection.
